Future Roo Day is an opportunity for admitted students and their families to meet faculty members, learn about life on campus and explore UMKC resources. 

Future Roo Day is for admitted undergraduate students and their families in all academic programs except the School of Medicine and audition/portfolio based programs in the Conservatory. The event is highly recommended for students who have yet to visit UMKC's campus and/or who are still considering where they want to attend college.

Membership in a fraternity or sorority offers students a unique opportunity to have a balanced college life with a focus on academic excellence, life-long friendships, leadership development, service and philanthropy, and responsible social interaction. Join current fraternity and sorority leaders and the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Affairs for a discussion on the Greek Life experience at UMKC and learn more about the many social and culturally-based fraternities and sororities on campus and how to get involved!

Located in the Swinney Center is Campus Recreation! Whether you’re interested in the fitness center, intramural leagues, group fitness, aquatics, or just looking for a pick-up game – Campus Recreation has it all! Enjoy the entire facility with your student membership, including the fitness center, five multipurpose basketball courts, racquetball courts, fitness studios, aquatics center, and the recreational field. With Campus Recreation, you can Be Active, Be Well, and Be Yourself!

UMKC’s Academic Support and Mentoring (ASM) department offers students a wide range of services and programs dedicated to providing innovative support and resources to ensure every UMKC student persists with the skills to achieve their vision of success. ASM provides academic support with services like UMKC Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), and the Writing Studio. ASM also provides mentoring support through programs such as Summer Bridge Scholars, Jumpstart KC, and First Gen Roo.

It will conclude by exploring the library's spaces, services, relics and robot (yep, we said robot!). Discover the best-kept secrets on campus for working smarter, not harder!

It's never too early to start preparing for the future! During this session, you will learn about the services we provide to help you land your dream job.

Soon you’ll be awarded financial aid. What happens next? This session will discuss important timelines, how to understand your financial aid package, and the next steps needed to ensure your finances are ready for the upcoming semester.

Expand your scholarly horizons through the Honors Program, which offers a challenging academic environment while cultivating a tight-knit community. Join this session for a class-like reading and discussion with current Honors Program students and others who are interested in joining.   

Roos are everywhere. Ready to join them? In this session, you will learn about the many study abroad opportunities available to you as a Roo through an interactive Kahoot presentation focusing on our diverse locations and programs!

Join the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) and Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) to learn more about how you get involved in UMKC student organizations and mentoring programs. Hear from UMKC staff and student leaders, and discover programs, resources, and organizations available to you on campus and within the greater Kansas City community.

Living on campus is a unique and rewarding experience. In this session, current residents will discuss their involvement with UMKC Residential Life, including the benefits of living on campus, how to share space with a roommate and how to get involved in hall leadership positions.

During this session, learn how to feel more confident and prepared to launch yourself into a good-paying job after college with the Professional Career Escalators program. The program offers personalized student success support including career guidance, mentoring, applied learning opportunities, and leadership development to help you navigate your career interests and graduate career-ready! Looking at graduate or professional school? The Professional Career Escalators program also includes resources to help you reach your academic goals.

Are you wondering about major options at UMKC?  Questions about how students find “the right” major?  This session will use interest assessment information to prompt the process of choosing a good fitting major at UMKC and resources that will support this process on campus.

Men of Color Academy (MoCA) is designed to foster and promote an inclusive comradeship for male-identifying students while focusing on educational advancement and establishing a sense of belonging. Join our session to learn more about our main objective to meet each individual where they are and help cultivate a rich, empowering community that promotes personal growth and prepares members for a successful transition into life after college.
